I have a 3.5" Combo Enclosure
and use Windows 2000 and MAC OS X ,the
external HDD can be recognised under Win2000 , but not under MAC OS
X . |

If your 3.5" Combo Enclosure external
HDD is formatted as "NTFS" under Windows 2000 ,it is not
compatible with MAC system .The external HDD need to be formatted
as "FAT32" file system , then it is compatible with Windows
2000 and MAC system. |

No,the combo enclosure can be used only one
kind at the same time. |

it on different PCs and also on a Mac, what format of HDD do I choose

If you want to use the same HDD on all those
different Operating Systems, with one or Mac OS, with several partitions,the
format should be FAT32. If the format of HDD is NTFS ,under Win98
and the HDD or partition can not be recognized. |

I have a problem about connecting this device
(Combo 3.5") to my laptop through the IEEE1394 connection.I am
using WinXP. The drive shows up in the " Device Manager"
but has an error : "This device can not start. (Code 10)"

You can set your HDD jumper to " Master
" .If your HDD is brand new ,it need to be partitioned and formated
first . |

you have some tips about installing the enclosure ? |

Please installl the 1394
or USB2.0 PCI card for your computer if your computer has no
1394 or USB2.0 port . |

Install the 3.5" Hard Disk in the
3.5" Enclosure , attach HDD to the board . |

Attach the power adapter to the 3.5"
Enclosure and then turn on the power of the Enclosure . |

1394 interface doesn't
need to install extra driver under Win 98 SE/ Win ME/
Win2000/ Win XP. |
| 2) |
USB 2.0 interface need to install
the driver for Win 98 SE ,if you use Win ME/ Win2000 /
Win XP, no driver is required . |

For MAC system : |
| |
| 1) |
1394 interface doesn't
need to install extra driver under MAC OS 9 / OS X . |
| 2) |
USB 2.0 interface need to install
driver for the 3.5 "combo USB 2.0 enclosure . You
